BioNova - Dosing Chart
How should popular BioNova fertilisers be dosed? Here is a proven recipe for perfect watering for all types of plants!
- The dosage depends on the product range of fertilisers you have chosen according to the growing method and substrate.
- We recommend combining BioNova fertilisers with the substrates from our favourite Dutch manufacturer. Bio Soilmix is the clear number one among soil substrates. Cocomix Plus is likewise unbeatable in its category.
- Dose BioNova fertilisers on the basis of one of the five tables, taking into account the developmental stage in which the plant is located. The tables distinguish the growth phase (= vegetative phase) and the flowering phase, which is divided for more effective application of the individual fertilisers into three parts: initial, middle and final. The Czech translation can always be found in the tables in the middle of the text.
- The stated values represent the dose in millilitres per 10 litres of water.
- In addition to the basic nutrition for flowering and growth (MAIN FERTILISERS), also note the column with the value of electrical conductivity of the solution (EC). You will find it in all five tables. Bear in mind that the values in the EC column are measured with reverse osmosis water, which has an EC of 0.0.
- BioNova also enables less experienced growers to achieve fantastic results! Add the unique supplementary fertilisers (STIMULATORS) to the basic nutrition and look forward to a record harvest. These are the products Roots, X-cel and The Missing Link. Their dosage is stated in all five tables right alongside the basic fertilisers.
- In the last week before harvest, do not forget the so-called flush, or flushing. At this stage, you no longer add basic nutrition to the water. You can flush with clean water or in combination with a flushing agent, such as Canna Flush. This will achieve exceptionally healthy fruits with excellent taste, as no residues of salts or other undesirable substances will remain in the harvest.
- Dosing fertiliser according to the table and the manufacturer’s instructions minimises the risk of over-fertilisation. Nevertheless, we recommend continuously checking how the plants are doing during the growing cycle, as each of them has its own individual needs.
- Our TIP: For better watering and improved nutrient management, it is worth using filters and reverse osmosis units Growmax.
When to add and when to reduce?
- You can reduce the intensity of fertilisation for a while if you notice typical symptoms associated with an excess of nutrients. This is most often indicated by yellowing leaves, spots on their edges, or a white surface on the substrate.
- If you notice that, on the contrary, the plant is lacking nutrients, it is advisable to start fertilising a little more. If the plant is growing unnaturally slowly and its leaves are smaller than is usual for the species in question, it is probably undernourished. In such a case, you can try increasing the intensity of fertilisation and observe whether this has a positive effect on the plant and it begins to do better.
- If you decide to adjust the dosage, be sure to make the change gradually. Whether you are reducing or increasing the dose, the difference from the previous one should not be greater than 10 %.
FERTILISERS FOR SOIL
