Product detailed description
AutoPot 1Pot XXL50 with 47 l tank - 2 pots without daily watering
Do you want to grow large plants and still leave them unattended even at the weekend? AutoPot 1Pot XXL50 serves 2 pots using the AQUAvalve5 valve and holds two large plants. The XXL50 model with a 50l pot is the largest 1Pot variant - it can support even robust bushes, tomatoes or ornamental trees that would hit the limit in a smaller pot. The set is complete: a 47l tank and 9mm distribution are included, so you only need to assemble the system, fill it and start it. It is suitable for herbs, vegetables and mature bushes and trees, both indoors and outdoors.
With a larger set, the investment pays off in saved work and water: you do not need electricity, pumps or timers - everything is controlled by gravity pressure from the tank. The tank does not need to be constantly emptied and the distribution flushed, because fertiliser does not build up in it. And when one part wears out, you replace only that part, not the whole system.
How it waters - only by gravity
Each pot is served by the AQUAvalve5 valve with 9mm distribution. After connection to the tank, the valve automatically opens the supply and lets the tray fill with water to the preset level - by gravity alone, without a pump, electricity or a timer. Until the plant uses the water from the tray, the valve will not release another dose. The plant therefore goes through a wet and dry cycle, which builds strong roots; once the tray is emptied, the process repeats. You do not use even a watt of electricity.
Textile FlexiPot for huge roots
XXL sets run in round textile pots FlexiPot. Their porous walls air-prune the roots - instead of circling along the plastic wall, a dense branched root ball forms, which absorbs nutrients better. The porosity also oxygenates the substrate and supports vigorous growth. Bear in mind that exposed fabric evaporates water, so more pots may slightly increase humidity in the room.
Recommended substrates
The XXL always requires a freely draining substrate. Mixtures in a 50 % / 50 % ratio have proven effective:
- soil and perlite
- soil and expanded clay
- coco and perlite
- coco and expanded clay
- Rockwool and expanded clay
If you use expanded clay, rinse the pebbles first - some types are not stable in terms of pH. Before placing the pot into the tray, clean the bottom and walls of substrate to maintain the proper function of the AQUAvalve5 valve.
Tank setup and start-up
Place the 47 l tank at least 150 mm above the highest AQUAvalve5 valve - a Garland plastic stool can serve as a base. When the water level drops to about 1/3, top it up - and never let it dry out completely. After planting, water and allow 7-10 days to root, only then start the system; stronger roots will then take care of the water in the tray themselves.
Mineral and organic fertilisers
Dose mineral and organic fertilisers through the tank and distribution. In the XXL, you can also mix dry fertilisers (e.g. Biotabs or Florganics) directly into the substrate. With liquid organic fertiliser, add a water pump to the tank (run for 15 min every 2 h) so that nutrients do not settle, and each time the tank is emptied, flush the distribution and clean the tank, pump and filter. With mineral fertilisers, operation is the simplest and maintenance-free.
Care for the AQUAvalve5 valve
AQUAvalve5 is a simple but precise device - keep the valve and tray clean and free of obstructions. At the end of the season, wash the valve in warm soapy water (an old toothbrush helps). Remove limescale from the nozzle with a paper clip or blow it through; never clean it with a drill - you would destroy the valve.

Expansion and accessories
You can expand the system at any time with another tray: choose the XXL tray and the 1Pot XXL pack with pot. Which size to choose
This set serves 2 pots in a 50l pot - the largest 1Pot pot in the range. The neighbouring size is XXL50 for 1 pot. Do you need a smaller pot and more space? Choose the XXL35 variant with a 35l pot. The mechanics are the same for all of them; only the number of trays and the capacity differ.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the XXL50 not have an adaptive collar?
The 50l pot fits directly into the XXL tray; only the smaller 35l variant needs the collar. You therefore get the largest substrate volume per plant without additional parts.
Which substrate is suitable for the XXL?
Always a freely draining 50/50 mix - soil/perlite, soil/expanded clay, coco/perlite, coco/expanded clay or Rockwool/expanded clay. Drainage is key for alternating the wet and dry cycle.
