Advanced Hydroponics Dutch Formula Starter Pack is a set of four quarter-litre bottles of base nutrition, one litre of concentrate in total. It contains 1x 250 ml Grow, 2x 250 ml Bloom and 1x 250 ml Micro. It is the smallest way to get the whole Dutch Formula trio at once - suitable when you are just trying whether this range suits you.

How much of each component is used per cycle

The sum of the weekly doses from the official dosing chart for the whole cycle works out, for each litre of weekly feed, as follows: 8 ml Grow, 22 ml Bloom and 10 ml Micro. Bloom is therefore used almost three times more than Grow. Of all three bottles, Bloom has the tightest ratio of consumption to volume, so it runs out first.

How to dose the set

Four bottles, three components, one feed. Add Grow to the water first, then Bloom, and finally Micro, mixing between each bottle. Depending on the week and the component, the dose ranges from 0.5 to 3 ml per litre, in soil at half strength. Adjust the pH only after the solution is ready to between 5.8 and 6.2. In the last two weeks of the cycle, nothing is dosed from the set - that is the time for flushing.

Starter Pack, TriPack, or Starter Kit?

Three sets, three different answers. Starter Pack is the basic trio in quarter-litres, so the smallest entry. TriPack is the same trio in litres - four times the volume of Grow and Micro for anyone who grows regularly. Starter Kit aims elsewhere: it adds four Natural Power supplements to the basic trio in half-litres and covers the cycle from rooting to the final flush. There are no supplements or CalMag in the first two sets.

Are there really two bottles of Bloom in the set?

Yes. The contents are 1x Grow 250 ml, 2x Bloom 250 ml and 1x Micro 250 ml, one litre of concentrate in total. Bloom is also the component that is used the most over the cycle: the sum of its weekly doses from the official chart is 22 ml per litre of solution, while Micro is 10 ml and Grow is 8 ml.

Will the Starter Pack last for the whole cycle?

It depends on how much feed you mix per week - the calculation is based on the number of plants and the size of the containers, not on the set itself. You can get the basic Dutch Formula trio in quarter-litres only in this set - Grow, Bloom and Micro are sold separately from 500 ml upwards. For a larger grow room, it is better to count on the litre trio. When you need to buy more, start with Bloom.

What is missing from the set?

Supplements. The set contains only the basic trio Grow, Bloom and Micro. It does not include a root stimulator for the start, an enzymatic supplement, CalMag for osmosis and soft water, Silica, Amino or bloom supplements, and it also lacks the flush for the last two weeks. These are bought separately, or directly in the Starter Kit.
