Why choose the XL version of the 200 mm filter

AC Infinity DCF8-XL is an extended variant of the 200 mm DCF8 carbon filter. It is suitable where you need a higher maximum flow rate in the same 200 mm ducting, or want to top up or replace the charcoal fill less frequently.

Longer body and higher flow rate in figures

The filter body measures 23 inches (58.4 cm) instead of 20 inches (50.8 cm) for the standard DCF8; the overall dimensions are 60.0 x 27.7 cm. Thanks to the longer charcoal fill, the filter achieves a maximum flow rate of 930 CFM (1580 m3/h), while the standard DCF8 has 770 CFM (1308 m3/h). For this variant, the manufacturer cites the longer charcoal fill as the reason for the higher flow rate and longer filter life.

What the filter is made of

The filter media consists of Virgin Australian activated charcoal (Virgin Australian RC412), rated at 1200+ IAV, with a charcoal layer thickness of 38 mm. The flange is made of aluminium and the grille of galvanised steel.
