XL 150mm filter variant - longer body, more carbon

AC Infinity DCF6-XL is an extended 150mm carbon filter version of the DCF6 with a larger fill of activated carbon. It is chosen where the same 150mm setup needs to handle a higher maximum airflow or a longer service life of the fill than the standard DCF6 offers.

Differences compared with the standard DCF6

• Filter body length: 20 inches (50.8 cm) instead of 16 inches (40.6 cm)
• Overall dimensions: 50.0 x 22.7 cm
• Maximum airflow: 520 CFM (884 m3/h) instead of 410 CFM (697 m3/h)
• Package contents: without straps - only rope hangers and pre-filters

The manufacturer states that the longer carbon fill in the XL version is the reason for the higher airflow and longer filter life.

Material and construction

The filter fill consists of Australian virgin activated carbon (Virgin Australian RC412) with a rating of 1200+ IAV in a 38mm layer. The flange is aluminium, and the mesh is made of galvanised steel.

Pair the DCF6-XL filter with a fan and ducting of the same 150 mm diameter as the standard DCF6. Activated carbon in the ducting creates resistance and reduces the actual airflow of the setup - therefore the fan should be chosen with a reserve:
