Airflow silencer in a 100 mm duct run

AC Infinity Inline Duct Silencer DSA4 is an aluminium/stainless steel silencer (muffler) inserted directly into a ventilation duct with a diameter of 4" – typically between an inline fan and another duct section. Unlike a coupling, which reduces vibrations at just one joint, the DSA4 reduces airflow noise (whoosh) along its entire installed length.

How the silencing works

Inside the body is neoprene foam in a wave crest (wave crest / egg crate) shape, which absorbs sound waves created by fan vibrations and airflow. It reduces fan noise by up to 50% while maintaining airflow capacity – the silencer works for both intake and extract. Two aluminium/stainless steel flanges further absorb vibrations at the connection point.
