A thermostat monitors the limit (maximum / minimum) temperature, thereby helping to ensure the safe operation of various appliances. It also controls their switching on and off, or regulates their output, whether it is ventilation, heating or, for example, lighting.

A thermostat can measure the temperature of liquids, gases, as well as various components such as a heating element or electric motor. It can also be integrated as part of electric heating. And while we are on the subject of radiators, the ideal device for switching them on and off is the plug-in Hutermann thermostat.

The undisputed leader in the field is GSE (General System Engineering), but recently TechGrow has been catching up - switches that are definitely worth it. We have not forgotten the golden Czech hands either - the domestic Malapa does not fall behind.

What is the difference between a thermostat and a hygrostat?

A thermostat switches appliances according to temperature, while a hygrostat does so according to air humidity. For full climate control in the tent, the two devices are often used together.

Can a thermostat control a fan?

Yes, that is the most common use. The thermostat switches or throttles the fan according to the set temperature, so the extract runs only when needed - saving energy and reducing noise.

Which thermostat should I choose to start with?

For simple switching of a radiator or heater, a plug-in model such as Hutermann is sufficient. If you want more precise control of the growing climate, choose specialised controllers from GSE or TechGrow.
