HERCULES pots are highly unusual pots designed to promote excellent root system development. Thanks to their reinforced upper section, they are very easy to handle when the optimal amount of growing medium is used, and can be stored or moved without difficulty, with no risk of warping.

Root system growth is one of the main causes of container degradation and loss of elasticity. To prevent damage caused by expanding root masses, the pots feature an uneven base and projections along the inside, which distribute the force exerted by the roots.

Excess water is the main cause of root rot and the creation of an unfavourable soil environment. Drainage holes around the entire circumference completely eliminate this problem. Excess water drainage is further facilitated by the unique design of the pot base.

Providing the ideal water supply is difficult due to the specific needs of different plant species and the many types of pots and irrigation systems available on the market. Proper irrigation is also a guarantee of health and quality, which is why HERCULES pots are made with a perforated design to maintain aeration within the ideal range for supporting root growth. The root system can continue expanding until the final stages of the plant's life cycle, while its growth out of the pot is restricted. The holes are positioned to ensure even radial root growth and prevent roots from twisting and winding, which could complicate transplanting and prevent the plant from taking up nutrients evenly.

Of course, it is necessary to use a growing medium that allows oxygen to reach the roots by itself – coconut fibre is ideal.
