HERCULES pots are highly unusual pots designed to promote excellent root system development. Thanks to their reinforced upper section, the pots are easy to handle when filled with the optimal amount of soil, and can be stored or moved without difficulty, with no risk of distortion.

The expansion of the root system is one of the main causes of container degradation and loss of elasticity. To prevent damage to the pots caused by growing root masses, they feature an uneven base and projections along the inside, which distribute the pressure exerted by the roots.

Excess water is the main cause of root rot and the creation of an unsuitable soil environment. Drainage holes around the entire circumference completely eliminate this problem. The unique design of the pot base also facilitates the drainage of excess water.

Providing the ideal water supply is difficult due to the specific needs of different plant species and the many types of pots and irrigation systems available on the market. Correct irrigation is also essential for health and quality, which is why HERCULES pots feature a perforated design that maintains aeration within the ideal range to support root growth. The root system can continue expanding until the final stages of the plant's life cycle, while its growth out of the pot is restricted. The holes are positioned to ensure even radial root growth and prevent roots from curling and twisting, which could complicate transplanting and prevent the plant from absorbing nutrients evenly.

It is, of course, necessary to use a substrate that allows oxygen to reach the roots unaided – coconut fibre is ideal.
