Whether you're growing herbs, vegetables or fruit, you will use this device to its full potential only by adding CO2 into the grow room. The light emitted by the fixture is so intense that the plants would be overwhelmed and wouldn't be able to use it. However, with added CO2, they can increase the rate of photosynthesis and use all of it to grow as you've never seen before. As a bonus, CO2 reduces stress caused by moisture and heat. By using a device that supplies CO2 and light at the same time, you make the cultivation process more effective. Simply said: greater yields with the same energy input. If you want to use the light on full power, it can be placed closer to the plants but lights a smaller area - the manufacturer recommends about 150 x 150 cm. 

The general rule is that once you exceed 1000 µmol/s/m² PPFD (photosynthetic photon flux density), you should supplement CO2 in a 1:1 ratio to the PPFD. To illustrate, if the light's PPFD is 1000µmol/s/m², you should add CO2 until you reach 1000 PPM (parts per million) in the grow tent.

WARNING: We recommend supplementing CO2 only for experienced growers. CO2 levels of 1000-1500 PPM can have a negative impact on human health. You should lower the CO2 levels down below 800 PPM before entering the growing area.

If you choose not to add CO2 while using this light, it can cover an area of up to 180 x 180 cm. The fixture should be placed higher above the plants to avoid burning their tops. In this case, the maximum photon flow is 1050 µmol/s per square meter. 

Therefore, the area the device is able to light depends on wheater you supply CO2 or not.
