The range of fertilisers is truly extensive. To help you find your way around it more easily, here is a basic overview:

  • Organic fertilisers, also known as bio fertilisers, will ensure an organic harvest thanks to their 100% natural composition. Leading brands even offer 100% plant-based products such as BioNova Veganics. A great range of Biocanna also represents complete nutrition for your plants with organic certification. Purely organic fertilisers are suitable for growing in soil and in soil substrates especially in the case of soil mixes with a high soil content, such as various Grow-mixes, Light-mixes, All-mixes etc. Our range also includes Biotabs - an organic fertiliser with beneficial bacteria in the form of slow-release tablets.

Technical note: if you fertilise with biological fertilisers, adjust pH always and only with citric acid.

  • Mineral fertilisers are artificially produced, with each manufacturer trying to get as close as possible to what nature itself intended so that the properties of the product can be used to the maximum to support plant development, whether you grow in soil, coco or prefer pure hydroponics. Synthetic fertilisers are also suitable for various mixes (Coco/Perlite, Soil/Coco, Hydroton (expanded clay), Soil/Perlite etc.) Their advantage is long shelf life, and in the case of some products it is practically unlimited. Mineral fertilisers are most often liquid, but our range also includes special powder fertilisers. For experienced growers, we also have mineral fertilisers with an extremely high concentration from Metrop, whose correct dosing already requires some experience, as even a slight drop of this fertiliser into the feed solution can result in overfeeding.
  • Organomineral (bio-mineral, organic-mineral) fertilisers combine synthetic and natural components as a compromise.

Organic and mineral fertilisers containing nutrients in high amounts may have one or more components:

  • Single-component fertilisers are excellent especially if you are just starting out, because you work with a single bottle throughout the entire growing cycle. You only need to adjust the dose to the given stage according to the dosing tables. If you want an excellent single-component fertiliser at a favourable price, we recommend for example BioNova Supermix.
  • Two-component fertilisers contain components - one for the growth stage (grow) and the other for the flowering stage (bloom). This combination is standardly referred to in modern growing as A+B. Two-component fertilisers are widely used, so you can choose from many brands. For easy beginnings, fertilisers from BioNova, Canna, Plagron or Vitalink are most suitable.
  • Three-component, multi-component fertilisers cover 3 stages of the growing cycle at once. According to the dosing tables, you mix the components for micro, growth and bloom in different ratios. 3-component nutrition (micro, grow, bloom) is the hallmark of the Advanced Hydroponics brand

Fertilisers are synonymous with plant nutrition, and in addition to the basic fertilisers mentioned above, nutrition also inevitably includes various additives, thanks to which you will achieve excellent results and fully enjoy the joy of growing from the very beginning. That is why every grower's equipment should definitely include the following additives for high yield and a juicy harvest!

  • Root stimulators are indispensable during the first weeks of plant development, when they take care of the development of the root system. The more roots at the start, the more nutrients plants can absorb during the following stages. The more nutrients they absorb, the more beautiful and vital they will be. It is simple.
  • Boosters, or flowering stimulators, speed up the plant's metabolism and are specially developed so that the plant forms amazing flowers and large, juicy fruits.
  • Enzymes and minerals complete the most important trio of additives that it is wise to buy with basic fertilisers. These products work just like dietary supplements for humans. A plant will survive somehow without them, but with them it will enjoy much better health. Special enzymes and mineral content as the basis of healthy development and a source of better resistance to pests or diseases. If your plants show a specific deficiency and are missing an element, you can also supply it individually, most often for example Nitrogen (N), Potassium (K), Phosphorus (P), Calcium (Ca) or Magnesium (MgO).

If you do not want to choose and combine individual products, the ideal solution is value sets, which contain basic fertilisers and additives including practical advice and dosing tables. A comprehensive approach, absolutely ideal for beginners!
