Product detailed description

Canna Calmag Agent solves calcium and magnesium deficiencies

Canna Calmag Agent solves deficiencies of two very important minerals - calcium and magnesium. You can also use it where the input water is too soft, or when you use reverse osmosis water.

Main benefits of Calmag Agent

  • solves calcium and magnesium deficiencies (Ca, Mg)
  • increases nutrient uptake
  • supports stronger and healthier plants
  • contributes to higher quality flowers and fruits
  • it is a product with a high concentration
  • increases the EC of very soft water
  • is essential for reverse osmosis water

What good water quality is

Water that flows from the tap in households varies by region. We are talking about water from the public water supply. If you have your own well or another local water source, its quality can be anything and it is necessary to have it analysed.

There is a basic division of water according to the content of dissolved minerals.

Soft water
EC is lower than 0.4 - it is necessary to increase the EC to 0.4 using Canna Calmag Agent.

Normal water
EC is between 0.4-0.5. It contains dissolved calcium, magnesium and sodium bicarbonate, which stabilises the water pH. All Canna products are developed to work perfectly with normal water.

Hard water
It has an EC above 0.5 and contains more calcium and magnesium than the plant can use. If you have hard water, the best way to adjust it is to get a reverse osmosis filter. It produces completely demineralised water with almost zero EC. You then mix the filtered water with hard water so that you achieve EC 0.4. You can also use only filtered reverse osmosis water, whose EC you adjust with Canna Calmag Agent to EC 0.4.

Unsuitable water
Water with EC above 0.5 due to the content of sodium and chlorides is unsuitable for cultivation. These components block the uptake of other nutrients and can be toxic to the plant. Here too, the situation can be solved thanks to reverse osmosis - mix part of the unsuitable water into the filtered water to achieve EC 0.2 (this adds enough bicarbonate to stabilise the pH) and use Canna Calmag Agent to bring the EC up to 0.4.

Use for adjusting the hardness of soft water

  • shake the bottle well
  • prepare the required amount of water (20-22 °C)
  • add 0.1-0.5 ml of Canna Calmag Agent per litre of water until you reach the ideal EC of 0.4 mS/cm
  • then add fertilisers and other products as needed

Storage, safety and other information

  • store in a closed original container in the dark and at a temperature of 10-30 °C
  • keep out of reach of children
  • the bottle is made of polyethylene (it does not contain PVC or cadmium) and is recyclable
  • overfertilisation has a negative effect on the growing medium and plant health - do not exceed the dosage

When Calmag Agent fits into the feeding sequence

Calmag Agent belongs among the water additives in the Canna feeding sequence together with the silicon product Silica. It is most often used when growing in coco with the base Coco A+B (coconut fibres naturally bind calcium and magnesium) or when watering with reverse osmosis water.

Frequently asked questions

When should Calmag Agent be used?

If the input water is too soft (EC below 0.4) or comes from reverse osmosis, or if you are growing in coco, which naturally binds calcium and magnesium.

How should Calmag Agent be dosed?

Add 0.1-0.5 ml per litre of water until you reach EC 0.4 mS/cm, and only then add other fertilisers and products.

I grow in coconut substrate - do I always need Calmag Agent?

With the Coco A+B base, supplementing calcium and magnesium is commonly needed, because coconut fibre naturally binds these minerals.

Exact dosing for individual ranges can be found in the Canna dosing table.
