AutoPot Easy2grow extension kit - two 8.5 l pots on one valve

Do you want to expand the Easy2grow system with another pair of plants? This extension kit contains a complete module: a 2Pot tray with lid, two square 8.5 l pots and Easy2grow pack. Connect it to an existing tank and expand the set-up to any size.

How the irrigation works

Each pot is served by an AQUAvalve5 valve. After connection to the tank, the valve opens the supply and lets the tray fill with water to the preset level of 20 mm - solely by gravity, without pumps, mains pressure, electricity or timers. As long as the plant has not used the water in the tray, AQUAvalve5 will not allow replenishment, so the plant goes through a wet and dry cycle that supports healthy roots. Once the tray is empty, the process repeats.

Which family the kit belongs to

The kit belongs to the easy2grow (square, 8.5 l) family. Its special feature is that two square pots share one tray and one AQUAvalve5 valve - hence the lowest price and consumption per plant in the entire AutoPot range. The parts are square (square PotSock and marix), unlike the round ones in 1Pot XL.

Recommended substrates

The system always requires a free-draining substrate. Mixtures in a 50% / 50% ratio have proven effective: soil and perlite, soil and expanded clay, coco fibre and perlite, coco and expanded clay, or Rockwool and expanded clay. If you use expanded clay, rinse the pebbles first - some types are not pH stable. Before placing the pot into the tray, clean the bottom and sides of substrate; this will maintain the correct function of the valve.

Tank set-up and start-up

Place the tank at least 150 mm above the highest AQUAvalve. If the water level drops to 1/3 of the contents, top it up and never let the tank dry out completely. After planting, water the plants and allow them to root for 7-10 days; only then start the system. Dose mineral and organic fertilisers through the tank and distribution line; for organic fertilisers, add a water pump to the tank (run for 15 min every 2 h) and each time the tank is emptied, flush the distribution line and clean the tank, pump and filter.

Expansion and accessories

The kit fits into the Easy2grow system. A replacement 8.5 l pot and Easy2grow tray can be added separately, fittings can be found among 9 mm parts; a replacement Easy2grow lid (tray cover) can be added separately.
