AutoPot pack for 1Pot XXL 35 l - fabric pot and 9 mm distribution

This pack adds one large breathable textile 35l FlexiPot to the system together with the AQUAvalve5 valve and 9 mm distribution. It belongs to the 1Pot XXL (round) family; the 35l pot requires an adaptive collar that reduces the opening of the shared XXL tray to 35 l.

Textile FlexiPot - why it pays off

The breathable fabric pot supports air pruning: as soon as the root tips reach the porous wall, the air stops them and the plant forms a rich fibrous root structure. The roots breathe better and there is more oxygen in the zone. FlexiPot is reusable - after emptying, let it dry and shake or brush off dust and fine roots; it can be washed for sterilisation.

How irrigation works

Each pot is served by an AQUAvalve5 valve. After connection to the tank, the valve opens the supply and lets the tray fill with water to the preset level of 20 mm - by gravity only, without pumps, mains pressure, electricity or timers. As long as the plant has not used up the water in the tray, AQUAvalve5 will not allow replenishment, so the plant goes through a wet and dry cycle that supports healthy roots. Once the tray is empty, the process repeats.

Recommended substrates

The system always requires a freely draining substrate. 50/50 mixes have proved effective: soil and perlite, soil and expanded clay, coconut fibre and perlite, coconut and expanded clay, or Rockwool and expanded clay. If you use expanded clay, rinse the pebbles first - some types are not pH stable. Before placing the pot in the tray, clean the bottom and sides of substrate; this will maintain the correct function of the valve.

Tank setup and start-up

Place the tank at least 150 mm above the highest AQUAvalve. If the irrigation level drops to 1/3 of the contents, top it up and never let the tank dry out completely. After planting, water and allow 7-10 days to root; only then start the system. Dose mineral and organic fertilisers through the tank and distribution; for organic fertilisers, add a water pump to the tank (run 15 min every 2 h) and, each time the tank is emptied, flush the distribution and clean the tank, pump and filter.
