The AutoPot system distributes nutrient solution from the tank to individual self-watering pots through a network of tubing - the main line is made up of a 16 mm hose, from which thinner 6 or 9 mm lines branch off using reducers to the individual AQUAvalve units.
Basic parts include a 16 mm T-piece for branching the line, a straight connector for extending the hose, and an end cap for closing off an unused branch. Reducer connectors of the 16-9 mm or 16-6 mm type are used to connect thinner branches, often with a built-in filter to prevent the capillary from clogging with debris from the substrate.
A 16 mm filter or a filter with a quick connector is suitable for the inlet to a tank or barrel so that dirt does not enter the pipework and clog the narrow passages near the plants themselves. A through valve then allows manual closing of a specific branch without affecting the rest of the system, which is useful during maintenance or when one of the containers is temporarily taken out of service.
