The TD-250 fan housing is made of plastic. The housing consists of a mounting rail with two spigots and a motor, which is connected to the spigots by quick-release clamps. The design allows the motor section to be removed without disconnecting the ducting.
The AC motors in TD-160 to TD-350 fans have dual windings, which allows operation at two speeds. On AC motors with dual windings (TD 160–350), the speed is switched in two stages using REGUL 2 or COM 2 controllers, or by changing the voltage with REB controllers (smooth control) or REV (five-stage control).
The terminal block is located on the fan housing; on some types it includes a starting capacitor.

Fans can be installed in any position. The housing must not transmit mechanical stress from the ducting. A flexible connection to the ducting must be used.
