Prima Klima PK200EC-THC - quiet and efficient extract, 200 mm diameter and 1350 m3/h

Prima Klima PK200EC-THC is a duct radial fan with an energy-efficient ebm-papst EC motor. It can handle extraction through a carbon filter and longer ducting; the impeller with backward-curved blades and the aerodynamic housing made of non-flammable polyamide (nylon) ensure quiet and durable operation. The control and connection system is integrated into the housing.

What EC motor means

EC motor (electronically commutated, from the German manufacturer ebm-papst) is a type of motor - energy-efficient, quiet and with smooth electronic speed control built directly into the motor. Unlike a classic AC motor, the speed is not reduced by a lossy dimmer, so the fan draws only as much energy as it really needs for the given airflow - even at lower speeds. The result is lower consumption, less noise and a longer service life. EC refers to the motor, not the way it is connected to another device.

Built-in control according to temperature and humidity

The newer -THC control generation monitors both temperature and air humidity and adjusts the speed so that the climate remains within the target range - an approach close to VPD-based control. The sensor and control unit are part of the fan, so you do not need any additional device. For cultivation, this is essential: humidity determines the risk of mould and dew point just as much as temperature.

Which tent it suits and how to size it

With a maximum airflow of 1350 m3/h, the fan is suitable for a grow room, multiple tents or demanding extraction through a filter. The fan diameter, filter flange and ducting should all be the same (200 mm) - otherwise unnecessary resistance, loss of performance and noise will occur. A carbon filter and bends reduce the actual airflow, so choose the fan with a reserve above the space requirement.

What size tent is the fan suitable for?

The maximum airflow of 1350 m3/h with a 200 mm diameter covers a grow room, multiple tents or demanding extraction through a filter. Allow a reserve: a carbon filter and duct bends reduce the actual airflow of the setup, so choose the fan with more headroom than the tent requirement rather than exactly at the limit.

What is the difference between the -TC and -THC versions?

The -TC suffix means built-in temperature control: the fan increases speed itself when the temperature rises above the set limit. The -THC version regulates according to temperature and air humidity at the same time, keeping the climate within the target range (close to the VPD principle). For cultivation, humidity is just as important as temperature, so -THC is the more advanced option.

Do I need an external controller for the fan?

No. The control is built directly into the fan body, controls the speed itself and works without any additional device. An external controller is only bought by owners of ECblue models, which do not have built-in control.
