The inert rockwool growing mats by Grodan are made of high-quality basalt fibres pressed into mats. 

The Grodan Expert growing mats contain vertical hydrophilic fibres of mineral wool, which create a single layer with consistent density. We recommend this growing mat for cultivating herbs and crops (like tomatoes and cucumbers) which need frequent watering.
