Product detailed description
Metrop Enzymes is a concentrated enzymatic preparation for root protection and cleaning (root protection). It is for growers in soil, coco and hydroponics who want to keep the root zone clean, oxygenated and free of dead matter throughout the growing cycle.
How Metrop Enzymes works
Enzymes with a high content of hydrolases and lyases break down dead roots and organic matter into sugars and minerals. This brings two things at once: it cleans the root zone, so harmful anaerobic bacteria and moulds do not thrive there, and at the same time it frees up space for new rootlets. The breakdown improves the air/water ratio in the substrate, the roots have more oxygen and the plant absorbs nutrients from the other fertilisers better. The released sugars also feed beneficial aerobic bacteria around the roots.
Dosage and use
You apply Enzymes right from the start and use it at a constant dose throughout the cycle - dose 25 ml per 100 l of water constantly from the start of growth until the end of flowering, without any change. You do not need to adjust pH because of it. One litre is enough for roughly 4,000 litres of finished nutrient solution, so the bottle lasts exceptionally long. Use the mixed solution within roughly half a year and mix it in a clean container - organic dirt reduces the effectiveness of enzymes.
What to combine Enzymes with
Enzymes works perfectly with the seaweed Metrop RhizoXtrem - both additives run at a constant dose throughout the cycle and together keep the roots in good condition. At the start of growth, combine it with the root stimulator Metrop Root+, which builds new rootlets while Enzymes clears away the dead ones. It works with all basic fertilisers in the range and helps them because it improves nutrient uptake.
Parameters
Enzymatic preparation with a high content of hydrolases and lyases, of organic origin. pH is not adjusted during use. Storage life min. 10 years in a sealed bottle, mixed solution effective min. 6 months in a clean container. The colour is initially yellowish and fades over time. Pack sizes 250 ml, 1 l (= roughly 4,000 l of fertilised water), 5 l. Shake before use, store in the dark and protect from frost.
Frequently asked questions
When and for how long should Enzymes be used?
Apply it right from the start of cultivation and use it constantly throughout the cycle, i.e. from growth until the end of flowering. Dose 25 ml per 100 l of water regardless of the stage. Enzymatic root protection makes sense continuously, not just occasionally, because dead matter is constantly forming.
Do I need to adjust pH because of Enzymes?
No, Enzymes does not require you to adjust the pH of the solution. Nevertheless, monitor the overall pH of the nutrient solution because of the other fertilisers and add Calgreen to the tank last. Enzymes works within the healthy pH range of a normal growing solution.
How long does the mixed solution last?
The mixed solution is effective for at least six months if you keep it in a clean container. Organic contamination reduces the effectiveness of enzymes, so mix into a clean container and do not combine with leftovers from old nutrient solution. The bottle itself lasts more than ten years in a dry, dark place.
Does Enzymes replace fertiliser?
No, Enzymes is not a fertiliser, but an additive to it. It supplies only a small amount of nutrients on its own - its job is to break down dead matter, clean the root zone and improve nutrient uptake from MR1, MR2 and other fertilisers. It is used alongside basic nutrition, not instead of it.
For exact dosage for individual stages, see the Metrop dosage table.
