Product detailed description
Aqua Master Tools H600 Pro is a handheld monitor for growers who have outgrown a pocket pen. It measures pH, EC, TDS, PPM and liquid temperature with separate replaceable electrodes, and everything comes in a sturdy case - it is a device for the tank and the workshop, not for your pocket.
Why separate electrodes
H600 Pro has electrodes on a cable, a pH probe with a BNC connector, and when the probe wears out you replace it separately - the device body keeps working. The built-in calibration indicator also tells you when it is time to calibrate.
What H600 Pro measures
- pH 0.1 to 14.0 pH,
- EC 0.0 to 19.9 mS/cm,
- TDS 0.0 to 19.99 PPT,
- PPM 0 to 1999 PPM (factory set to 700 scale),
- temperature 0 °C to 50 °C.
pH determines whether the plant can take up nutrients at all - outside the range, some elements become blocked. As a guide, in hydroponics and coco keep it around 5.5 to 6.5 pH, in soil rather 6.0 to 7.0 pH. EC shows the strength of the solution, meaning the concentration of dissolved salts, not the quality of the fertiliser. For PPM, always watch the scale: the same EC gives a different result on the 500 scale than on the 700 scale, so when comparing with someone else's chart, EC in mS/cm is a more reliable common language.
Contents of the package and what to buy separately
In the box you will find the handheld monitor, a 9 V battery, a pH electrode and a carrying case. The EC electrode is not included, even though the device can work with it - if you want to measure conductivity as well, you need to buy it separately. The basic kit also includes calibration solutions and KCl storage solution for storing the pH probe.
Calibration and probe care
The monitor is factory calibrated, so you can measure your first tank before you even unpack the calibration solutions - but you will only keep the accuracy with regular calibration. pH is calibrated automatically at two points, using pH 4 calibration solution and pH 7. The EC section has single-point automatic calibration at EC 1.4, that is with EC 1.413 solution. Calibrate roughly once a month and always with fresh solution from an unopened pack; never pour used solution back into the bottle. The pH electrode is glass, so between measurements it belongs in KCl storage solution and must not dry out.

- Contents of the package: handheld monitor, 9V battery, pH electrode, carrying case
Aqua Master Tools gives 6 months on the pH electrode and 1 year on the device body. Rinse the electrode after every measurement, remove deposits from time to time with a cleaning solution, and keep it in KCl storage solution between measurements.
Which H600 version to choose
H600 Pro is the version for liquids - nutrient solution in the tank, ready-made feed, runoff or well water. When you want to measure directly in coco, peat or soil, choose H600 Pro Substrate, whose probes are adapted for soft medium. The electronics, ranges and calibration method are the same for both versions; only the intended use of the probes differs.
Frequently asked questions
Is the EC electrode included with H600 Pro?
No. The package includes the handheld monitor, a 9 V battery, a pH electrode and a carrying case. You buy the EC electrode separately, even though the device can measure conductivity, TDS and PPM. Bear this in mind when budgeting: if you want to monitor the strength of the solution from the start, order the EC electrode together with the metre.
Does the pH electrode have to be stored in solution?
Yes. The glass pH electrode is stored in KCl storage solution, which protects it from drying out. After every measurement, rinse the probe with clean water and return it to the cap with solution. This does not apply to Aqua Master Tools dry-storage pens, but the H600 Pro has a classic glass probe.
Is the probe replaced on the H600 Pro, or the whole device?
Only the probe. The electrodes are separate and replaceable, and the pH one connects with a BNC connector, so the monitor body keeps working. Aqua Master Tools gives a 1-year warranty on the device and 6 months on the pH electrode. After every replacement, recalibrate the metre: pH at two points with 4.0 and 7.0 solutions, conductivity at one point with the EC 1.413 standard.
