Whisperblower EC 800 m3/h, 125 mm – power and silence in one housing

Do you need to move a lot of air through 125 mm ducting, but do not want to hear the ventilation throughout your flat? Whisperblower EC combines airflow of up to 800 m3/h with an ebm-papst EC motor and infinitely variable speed control from 0–100 %. The silenced housing keeps noise levels low even at full power, so the model can handle a carbon filter without unnecessary noise.

Why Whisperblower is quieter

Whisperblower is not an ordinary fan with an additional silencer. It is a silenced design with redesigned housing and impeller aerodynamics, developed in cooperation with ebm-papst. Air flows inside like on a roller coaster – the new channel geometry creates higher pressure and airflow with the same energy consumption while also reducing noise compared with the standard range of the same diameter.

What the ebm-papst EC motor does

An EC motor is an electronically commutated motor with the electronics integrated directly into the housing. It excels through low energy consumption, quiet operation and infinitely variable speed control. Unlike inexpensive phase-angle control for AC motors, energy is not lost on the way to the motor, so the fan runs efficiently and without unnecessary humming. EC is a motor type, not a method of connecting to anything else.

Matching the filter and ducting

Always choose the fan, filter flange and ducting with the same diameter – 125 mm for this model. A carbon filter increases the resistance of the system, so size the fan with reserve above the needs of the growing space and match the filter and ducting to the same 125 mm diameter. Mismatched diameters otherwise add unnecessary resistance, reduce performance and increase noise.

For which space

The 800 m3/h airflow covers a medium growing space or a smaller growroom with a filter. When less is sufficient and you are looking to save energy, choose the Whisperblower EC 450 m3/h variant; for fully automatic climate-based control, there is the Whisperblower EC-TC with temperature control.

What to buy with the fan

For odour extraction, fit the WHSPEC 125 mm carbon filter from the same silenced range. Frequently asked questions

Is 800 m3/h too much for a small tent?

For a very small tent, yes – but the infinitely variable control allows you to reduce the speed, so you can lower the fan to the required level while saving energy and reducing noise.

Do I need a controller for it?

No, the infinitely variable speed control from 0–100 % is operated directly on the fan housing without any additional device. If you want to control the speed automatically according to temperature and humidity, choose one of the related models with built-in TC control or the ECblue version with an RJ45 connector.

How does the filter reduce noise?

Whisperblower is quieter thanks to the redesigned housing and impeller aerodynamics, not an added silencer. A carbon filter on the intake also absorbs some of the airflow noise.
