Vegan substrate BIOCANNA Bio Terra Plus with a reduced peat content contains the highest-quality white peat, coconut fibres, organic additives to improve soil properties and organic fertilisers. These are entirely plant-based, so the substrate contains no animal components. Just like the entire BIOCANNA range.

The peat used is of the highest quality available and is found in only a few locations around the world. The long fibres in the structure of Bio Terra Plus peat are much lighter than in cheaper versions. The lightness of the peat is an enormous advantage for plants. 

Bark, which we use, has special characteristics. Poor-quality bark can often cause unwanted mould. The bark used in Bio Terra Plus has anti-rot properties! 

Bio Terra Plus also contains coconut fibres—in fact, the very best coconut: CANNA COCO. Certified, balanced organic fertiliser enriched with soil bacteria creates a beneficial symbiosis, resulting in fewer diseases, better nutrient release and absorption, and improved plant development.

The amount of this soil pre-fertiliser used depends on the quantity of nutrients supplied. Bio Terra Plus regulates this automatically. When you supply a small amount of nutrients, more fertiliser is used, and conversely, when you supply a large amount of nutrients, less fertiliser is used. The fertiliser remains contained in the soil even when it is not directly needed; the soil stores it until it is required. This self-regulation does not depend on the added water, but on the climate temperature.
