AutoPot bundle for FlexiPot XL - textile 20l pot and 9mm distribution

This bundle adds one breathable textile 20l FlexiPot to the system together with the AQUAvalve5 valve and 9mm distribution. The FlexiPot 20 l belongs to the 1Pot XL (round) family - it shares the size of the 25l XL pot, the round saucer and the collar.

Textile FlexiPot - why it pays off

The breathable fabric pot supports air pruning: as soon as the root tips reach the porous wall, the air stops them and the plant forms a rich fibrous root structure. The roots breathe better and there is more oxygen in the zone. The FlexiPot is reusable - after emptying, let it dry and shake off or brush away dust and fine roots; it can be washed for sterilisation.

How irrigation works

Each pot is served by the AQUAvalve5 valve. After connection to the reservoir, the valve opens the supply and lets the saucer fill with water to the preset level of 20 mm - by gravity only, without pumps, mains pressure, electricity or timers. As long as the plant has not used up the water in the tray, the AQUAvalve5 does not allow replenishment, so the plant goes through a wet and dry cycle that supports healthy roots. After the tray empties, the process repeats.

Recommended substrates

The system always requires a free-draining substrate. 50/50 mixes have proven effective: soil and perlite, soil and expanded clay, coconut fibre and perlite, coco and expanded clay, or Rockwool and expanded clay. If you use expanded clay, rinse the pebbles first - some types are not pH stable. Before placing the pot into the saucer, clean the base and sides of substrate; this will maintain the correct function of the valve.

Reservoir setup and start-up

Place the reservoir at least 150 mm above the highest AQUAvalve. If the nutrient level drops to 1/3 of the volume, top it up and never let the reservoir dry out completely. After planting, water the plants and let them root for 7-10 days; only then start the system. Dose mineral and organic fertilisers and other additives through the reservoir and distribution; for organic products, add a water pump to the reservoir (run for 15 min every 2 h) and each time the reservoir empties, flush the distribution and clean the reservoir, pump and filter.

The bundle belongs to the 1Pot XL system. The roots are protected by the PotSock Round XL, and the fittings can be found among 9 mm parts and 16 mm parts.
