Activated carbon is carbon with a porous structure and a large internal surface area (1050 m2/g). It can absorb a wide range of substances, including odour. It can therefore be used as a replacement refill for odour filters. Its shape is in the form of pellets. The service life of activated carbon is approximately 18-24 months.

Calculation for selecting a suitable filter
We calculate the air volume in the room by multiplying the room length (m) by the room width (m) and the ceiling height (m).
For example: A room 4 m long, 3 m wide and 2 m high => 4 x 3 x 2 = 24 m3
We multiply the resulting air volume by 60 (i.e. the number of minutes per hour), which tells us how much air needs to be purified in 1 hour.
We compare the result with the maximum output of the selected filter. If its max. output is higher than our result, the filter is sufficient for the given space.
