Zeolite is unique in that the spatial arrangement of atoms creates channels, cavities and pores of constant dimensions, in which substances in solid, liquid and gaseous states are trapped. Zeolite is therefore widely used in ion-exchange processes. Zeolite is a microporous material that retains sodium and chlorine ions in its pores. In an aqueous environment, these are able to “absorb” other ions, which we use in the filtration process. Zeolite is in fact a kind of natural disinfectant, non-toxic, non-allergenic and effectively regulates nutrient management in the soil.

The fraction size is 4-8mm.

Use of Zeolite:

- additive to growing substrates - Zeolite makes the substrate airy and suitable for the successful growth of the plant root system, binds and then gradually releases all fertilisers used, improves water management and its structure is an ideal environment for the multiplication of beneficial soil bacteria. Zeolite is also suitable for improving acidic, heavy clay or sandy soils, where it acts as a soil conditioner.

- decorative material - Zeolite is a suitable decorative material for covering the soil of plants grown in containers. It prevents excessive evaporation of water, binds nutrients and absorbs harmful substances. It prevents the growth of mould. It absorbs odours from the surrounding environment.

- planting and sowing plants - Using zeolite as a drainage layer at the bottom of a sowing or growing container ensures good plant health and a strong root system.

- filter medium for aquariums, ponds and lakes - Zeolite helps create a suitable environment for fish and ornamental aquatic plants, limits the occurrence of algae and significantly reduces the content of harmful ammonia in water.
