Terra Aquatica (General Hydroponics) – Dosage Tables

How should you dose Terra Aquatica fertilisers? Here is a tried-and-tested method!

The popular products from this manufacturer were previously known to you under different names and the General Hydroponics brand. To help you find your way around the newly named T.A. range, you can first read in a separate article what has been renamed to what.

• The dosage depends on the fertiliser range you selected according to your growing method and growing media.
• We recommend combining Terra Aquatica fertilisers with these growing media.
• Dose T.A. fertilisers according to the Nutrient Schedule, taking into account the plant's stage of development.
• The values shown in the table represent the amount of product in millilitres per litre of water.
• Always measure the EC value after adjusting the water's pH (between 5.5 – 6.5), and then again after adding the base nutrients and supplements.
• Do not forget that during the final week of the growing cycle it is important to carry out a so-called flush, or flushing. At this stage, do not add any conventional fertilisers to the water. This will result in exceptionally healthy fruit with an excellent taste, as no residual salts or other undesirable substances will remain in the crop. Whether you grow in growing media or cultivate plants in hydroponic systems, obtain FlashClean for the flushing phase. This product dissolves residual salts and acts as an effective preventative measure against their accumulation. Use it for 2 days to flush at the end of the growing cycle. You can then flush the plants with clean water only for a further 2 days.
• During ripening, immediately before harvest, apply FinalPart to achieve not only higher yields but also more varied fruit flavours.
• Dosing fertiliser according to the table and the manufacturer's instructions minimises the risk of overfertilisation. Nevertheless, we recommend regularly monitoring how the plants are doing throughout the growing cycle, as each one has its own individual needs.
• For higher-quality watering and more efficient nutrient management, it is worthwhile using filters and Growmax reverse osmosis units. All T.A. products are compatible with reverse osmosis (RO) water. For TriPart and DualPart fertilisers, choose the versions for so-called soft water, and when using Pro Organic organic fertilisers, also use T.A. Magnesium Supplement as a supplement. Silicate helps to stabilise the pH of reverse-osmosis-treated or very soft water.

When should you increase or reduce the dosage? 

• You can reduce the intensity of fertilisation temporarily if you notice typical symptoms associated with an excess of nutrients. These are most commonly indicated by yellowing leaves, spots on their edges or a white surface on the growing medium.
• If, on the other hand, you notice that the plant lacks nutrients, it is advisable to start fertilising slightly more. If the plant grows unhealthily slowly and its leaves are smaller than usual for the species, it may probably be undernourished. In such a case, you can try increasing the intensity of fertilisation and observe whether this has a positive effect on the plant and whether it begins to thrive better.
• The EC of tap water varies, as do other factors affecting the electrical conductivity of the solution, which needs to be adjusted to the needs of your plants. Therefore, start with the values in the tables, but do not be afraid to adjust the dosage slightly afterwards.

T.A. - FOLIAR APPLICATION

• The spray is most commonly applied to the leaves, but the nutrient solution can also be sprayed directly onto the roots (aeroponic systems), which is why they are listed in a separate column.
• The EC level of products intended for spraying should not exceed 0.6 mS.
• As you can see in the table, T.A. products that can be applied by spraying are divided into three categories: specific boosters, metabolism boosters and protection.
• For dosing these products, the growth and onset of flowering stages are practically the only relevant factors. Do not use foliar sprays during flowering! The only notable exception is pulverised silicate Silicate, which is indispensable when growing in open soil and is commonly used on its own during the first two weeks of the flowering phase. This supplementary fertiliser is compatible with all products in the T.A. range. However, if you use beneficial microorganisms TrikoLogic or TrikoLogic S, apply this silicate only as a spray on the flowers, or by the dry method to a selected spot on the stem above the ground, so as not to slow the spread of beneficial microorganisms in the growing medium.

T.A. - HYDROPONICS (HYDRO) + COCO

• The manufacturer distinguishes the dosage of its products across seven phases, represented by the individual columns in the table.
• The recommended values for electrical conductivity of the solution (EC) are also placed in these columns, below the base mineral nutrients (and above the base organic nutrients). 
• Flushing is carried out during the growing cycle not only conventionally at the end, but also periodically, four times in total. It is therefore definitely worthwhile obtaining FlashClean for your nutrient programme.
• During the ripening period, which lasts 10 – 15 days, the only product from the category of base mineral nutrients for coco and hydroponics that is used is FinalPart. The other products are dosed during the periods of the first roots, first true leaves, growth, onset of flowering and flowering. During ripening, organic fertilisers for flowering and flowering stimulators from other categories are also used. 
• The word “Or” in the table indicates where it is sufficient to choose one of the products for the given purpose. For example, there is no point in using two root stimulators. You will therefore dose either Root Booster, or Pro Roots. This applies to root and flowering stimulators, plant protection products, and products for the absorption and assimilation of nutrients. They serve the same purpose, but the dosage of these products differs.

T.A. - SOIL
