Prima Klima Industry K1611 is a premium carbon filter with a deep 4 cm bed of highly activated CTC75 carbon. Compared with the thinner 3 cm bed of the Eco range, it offers higher adsorption capacity and a longer service life, so it can handle demanding continuous operation. 250 mm flange, max. airflow 1800 m3/h (optimally around 1200 m3/h).

Product detailed description

Prima Klima Industry K1611 - premium 250 mm carbon filter with a 4 cm bed of carbon

Do you need to reliably remove odours from outgoing air even during long operation? Prima Klima Industry K1611 belongs to the premium Industry Line, which is separated from the more affordable Eco Line by one, but crucial, thing: a 4 cm deep bed of activated carbon instead of 3 cm. A larger layer of carbon means longer contact time between the air and the carbon, higher adsorption capacity and a longer service life - that is why the Industry Line is suitable for continuous and more demanding operation, where the thinner filter will wear out sooner.

Why a 4 cm carbon bed (difference compared with Eco Line)

Both ranges are filled by Prima Klima with the same high-quality highly activated CTC75 carbon with an internal surface area of over 1200 m2/g. The difference is in the thickness of the bed layer: Eco Line has 3 cm, Industry Line 4 cm. The thicker layer extends the time during which the air is in contact with the carbon, so the filter captures more odour molecules and its filling lasts longer. The premium price is therefore justified by longer service life and reliability under load - the filter is also refillable, so the carbon can be replaced once exhausted instead of buying the whole filter.

How the filter works

Air passes through the bed of activated carbon and odour (organic) molecules are captured - adsorbed - inside the porous structure of the carbon. The capacity is gradually used up by the airflow, in the same way as a battery discharges. The lower the actual airflow through the filter and the cleaner the air, the longer the filling lasts. The filter is lined with a fabric pre-filter that catches dust and protects the carbon, and it can be mounted vertically or horizontally.

Choose the filter, fan and ducting with the same 250 mm diameter. Size the fan with a reserve above the tent's requirement - the carbon creates resistance and reduces the actual airflow of the assembly, so the fan alone will always extract more air than the assembly with the filter fitted. The optimal airflow of around 1200 m3/h indicates the mode in which the filter works most efficiently and for the longest time; 1800 m3/h is the upper limit.

Which fan to use and how to complement it

For matching diameters, the Prima Klima 250 mm EC fan and 250 mm ducting are directly suitable. You can find the full range, including larger and smaller sizes, in the category Prima Klima Industry carbon filters.

Which size to choose

This filter is sized for large growing rooms (250 mm flange, up to 1800 m3/h). If you need a different output, choose the neighbouring size: the smaller Industry K1610 for lower airflow or the more powerful Industry K1612. The mechanics and carbon work the same across the whole range; only the diameter, length and airflow differ.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Industry Line differ from the cheaper Eco Line?

By the thickness of the carbon bed - Eco has 3 cm, Industry 4 cm. The carbon is the same in both (CTC75), but the thicker layer in the Industry Line extends the contact time, increases capacity and service life. That is why the Industry Line is the choice for more demanding and continuous operation.

How long does the filter last?

It cannot be stated in months across the board - the service life of the filling decreases with higher airflow and more polluted air. Roughly speaking, double the airflow means roughly half the service life. The filter is refillable, so you can simply replace the carbon after a while.

Which fan should I choose for the filter?

Always the same flange diameter, i.e. 250 mm, and with a reserve above the tent's requirement. The carbon increases resistance and reduces the actual airflow, so the fan should be chosen with more output than would correspond to the bare volume of the space.
