This measuring instrument is designed to measure the content and quality of sugar in fruit. The digital refractometer MA871 is an optical instrument that uses the measurement of the refractive index of light to determine volume % sugar in aqueous solutions. The method is simple and fast.

Samples are measured after simple user calibration with deionised or distilled water.

Within a few seconds, the instrument measures the refractive index of the sample and converts it to % sugar thanks to the concentration unit.

The digital refractometer MA871 eliminates the uncertainty associated with mechanical refractometers and is easily portable for field measurements.

The measurement technique and temperature compensation use the methodology recommended in the ICUMSA methods book (an internationally recognised authority for sugar analysis).
The temperature (in ° C or ° F) is displayed simultaneously with the measurement on a large two-level display together with low-power icons and other useful data.
