A popular annual, used mainly for window boxes and garden containers, but also for flower beds. Stems and leaves are hairy and sticky. It grows to a height of 15 - 45 cm depending on the variety. It grows upright or trailing. It flowers from June to September and even longer if the weather is favourable. The colour range is from white, yellow, pink, red and blue to dark purple with various shades. It produces large-flowered, small-flowered, double or single blooms. It can also be planted in gardens with other annuals. In modern architecture, it is also used for ornamental plantings.

We sow the seeds on the surface of the substrate and cover them only after emergence. Young plants are pricked out twice. We regularly remove fading flowers. The plants thrive in soil well supplied with nutrients and rich in moisture in a sunny position. Petunias do not tolerate even a light frost.
