Quassia amara – wood from a tropical shrub against a range of insect pests, 130 g
Code: GMP-ART00544Related products
Product detailed description
Quassia amara wood comes from a tropical shrub and naturally contains the bitter substances quassin and neoquassin. These substances are extracted into a water-based extract through a simple process, which is then used as a spray against insect pests of fruit trees. The product is particularly effective against the yellow sawfly, plum sawfly, apple sawfly, aphids, spotted psyllid and apple blossom weevil.
How to use
Boil the sawdust for 1 hour in standing water at a ratio of 130 g per 1.5 l of water. Store the strained extract for a maximum of 4 days in a cool place. Immediately before application, dilute the extract in 5 litres of water – this quantity is sufficient for 5–10 trees, depending on the size of the crown. Adding a wetting agent is recommended. Apply the spray at higher pressure so that the product reaches the flowers. Treat infested trees during flowering.
