Product detailed description
Take light measurement to a new level with the ePAR sensor
While traditional PAR sensors end their measurement at the 700 nm boundary, the latest research clearly shows that photons in the far-red (700–750 nm) range also play a key role in photosynthesis and affect the overall vitality and development of plants. That is why the SQ-616 sensor comes with extended photosynthetically active radiation (ePAR) measurement, giving you a complete and accurate picture of the light your plants actually use.
Why is the SQ-616 at the top of its field?
This intelligent sensor has been designed for professionals who demand uncompromising accuracy and reliability. Whether you are optimising lighting for growing tomatoes, chilli peppers, herbs, or carrying out scientific research, the SQ-616 provides data you can rely on.
- Accurate measurement of the full spectrum: Captures radiation in the 400–750 nm range, allowing you to objectively assess modern LED luminaires as well as natural sunlight.
- Direct connection to PC and Mac: Thanks to the USB output and free software, you can carry out point measurements, monitor graphs in real time, and log PPFD data without the need for an additional datalogger.
- Standalone data logging: Connect the sensor to any 5V DC USB power source (e.g. a power bank) and use the internal memory to store up to 10,000 measurements. You can then easily download the data as a CSV file.
- Individual calibration: Each sensor is precisely calibrated at the factory with an uncertainty of just ±5%, with calibration data stored directly in the firmware.
Measurement without compromise: in the greenhouse, laboratory and underwater
Thanks to its robust anodised aluminium construction and IP68 rating, the SQ-616 sensor is fully waterproof and ready for use in the most demanding conditions. You can safely submerge it to a depth of up to 30 metres. It is ideal for measurement in hydroponic systems, aquariums, or research into aquatic plants.
Software and documentation
Free ApogeeConnect software for Windows and macOS is available for full use of the sensor. It enables real-time data monitoring, logging, graph creation and easy export.
