A small, strongly aromatic perennial plant. We dry the upper non-woody part of the flowering herb, which contains a large amount of essential oils with a strong disinfectant and soothing effect. It is used against coughs, for digestive tract problems, for gargling and as compresses. It requires well-drained soil and full sun. Cut back after flowering.
