Product detailed description

Canna Calmag Agent optimizes your water to prevent calcium and magnesium deficiencies and achieve the best results. Useful in areas with soft water or water filtered by reverse osmosis.

Benefits of CANNA CALMAG AGENT:

  • Prevents deficiencies in calcium and magnesium
  • Increases water hardness
  • Stabilizes water pH over time
  • Maintains optimal nutrient quality in the nutrient reservoir
  • Stronger, healthier plants, high-quality flowers
  • Increases nutrient absorption
  • Highly concentrated product
  • Increases water EC
  • Necessary for reverse osmosis water

Take a closer look at your water

Tap water quality is different according to the region we're in. And that's regulated water from the public water supply. If you're using water from a private well or have your own water source, it should be analysed before it gets used in any way.

Water quality can be described by the number of minerals dissolved in it:

Soft water:
EC is lower than 0,4 - it's necessary to use Calmag to increase it.

Optimal water
Normal water has EC levels between 0,4 and 0,5. It already contains calcium, magnesium and bicarbonate of soda, which stabilise water pH. All Canna products are made to work best with normal water.

Hard water
The EC levels of hard water are above 0,5 and it contains more calcium and magnesium than the plant can use. If you have hard water, the best way to adjust it is by using a reverse osmosis filter. This filter produces water that contains no minerals at all, and its EC is near zero. This filtered water can either be mixed with hard water so that the resulting water has an EC of 0,4. Or you can use the Canna Calmag Agent, to be perfectly sure that the water you give your plants has the optimal levels of minerals.

Bad water
High in sodium, chlorine, heavy metals, harmful elements, or has a very high EC. Bad water is bad water, hard or soft and can be toxic to plants. It can be purified in reverse osmosis, but this time it can't be mixed with unfiltered water to reach the optimal EC levels. Instead, you should mix the filtered water with unfiltered until you get to 0,2 EC. This supplies the water with enough bicarbonate to stabilise its pH. To even the EC levels to the optimal value of 0,4, add Canna Calmag Agent.

Use and dosage:
- fill the nutrient reservoir with the needed amount of water (20-22°C)
- add 0,1-0,5 ml of Calmag Agent per 1l of water
- measure the EC levels continuously
- add nutrients and additives to be used such as CANNA COCO, CANNABOOST, RHIZOTONIC, CANNAZYM, and PK13/14, mixing between each addition. Adjust your EC as needed. Make pH adjustments as needed.
- Wait 24-48 hours to do additional pH adjustments, because the solution naturally drops and then rises in pH during this time. Keep in mind that a stable pH is also temperature-dependent.
- using too much Calmag Agent has a negative impact on the substrate and plant health - do not overdose

See the Canna feeding charts for further information on dosing their fertilisers and nutrients.
