Bluelab pH Pen Plus is a pocket pH metre for solution, soil and water, designed as a long-term investment. It measures pH in the range 0.0-14.0 with an accuracy of ±0.1 pH - and above all: when the probe wears out over time, you only replace it.

Calibration and probe care

Calibrate in two points using pH 4.0 and pH 7.0 solutions (or pH 10.0 if you usually measure above 7.0). The probe has a storage cap filled with KCl solution and a sponge, which keeps it hydrated - so the pen remains ready for immediate measurement. Top up the cap as needed with KCl storage solution; never let the probe dry out and measure in a solution with conductivity of at least 0.2 EC. For complete maintenance, use the care kit for pH probes.

Which pH pen to choose

Choose the pH Pen Plus if you want maximum service life thanks to probe replacement and IP68 resistance. The basic Bluelab pH Pen has a built-in (non-replaceable) probe and is a simpler choice for solution. For direct measurement in substrate, choose the Bluelab pH Pen for soil.

The device comes with a two-year warranty, and the Bluelab pH ProbePlus probe has a 6-month warranty. Keep an eye on pH especially when mixing the nutrient solution - the correct value is key to ensuring that plants take up nutrients to the full.

How is the probe stored?
