The organic peat-free growing substrate Biobizz Light-Mix Peat Free provides the ideal base for supporting vigorous root development and the growth of seedlings, young plants or cuttings. It is a light, airy substrate with almost no nutrients, in vegan quality, suitable for indoor and outdoor growing.

Ecological alternative to peat

Light-Mix Peat Free is designed to provide growers with an ecological alternative to traditional peat-based substrates while allowing full control over fertilisation. The peat-free substrate with perlite develops vital microactivity - water works together with the soil and creates organic catalysts that quickly develop root structures. The roots thus have access to air and water, which is essential for strong growth. Thanks to its composition, it also contains a large amount of beneficial fungi that take care of the natural decomposition of organic material in the substrate.

Composition

The substrate consists exclusively of renewable and sustainable materials - coconut fibre, wood fibres, composted bark, miscanthus, perlite and other organic materials. These components mimic the favourable properties of peat (lightness, aeration, water retention). The light and airy character of the substrate supports excellent drainage, thereby reducing the risk of waterlogging and root rot - this is especially beneficial for seedlings and young plants.

How to use the substrate

Because it contains only a minimum of nutrients, you can use higher doses of fertilisers for any type of plant, including heavily fed ones, without the risk of overloading the soil and burning the roots. With automatic watering, it is important that the water penetrates the substrate properly; otherwise, it may become too moist and mould may develop.
