400W HPS kit is a discounted set for growing under a lamp on an area of roughly 100x100 cm. You get the tent, light and ballast together, so there is no need to wonder whether the individual parts will fit together.
Who is the 400W kit suitable for
400 W is a classic middle ground between the more economical 250W kit and the more powerful 600W kit. It is suitable when you want a sensible balance between consumption and yield and do not want to overheat a smaller space. For an area of around one square metre, it provides enough light without you having to deal with cooling as with the most powerful lamps.
How to choose between power ratings
- 250 W - economical option for a smaller tent and lower ceiling, less heat
- 400 W - balanced middle ground for an area of around 1 m2, versatile choice
- 600 W - highest yield, full lighting for a larger tent
The key is the ratio of power to the tent area and height - the higher you train the plants, the more likely you are to appreciate stronger light. Always bear in mind that the lamp gives off heat, so the kit also includes a solution for ventilation.
