The duct Y-piece, also called a Y-connector in Czech, is used where it is necessary to split the airflow from one source into two or three separate routes - typically after the fan during active intake into multiple grow tents or into a divided room.
When choosing, follow the connection diameter - the range includes sheet metal duct Y-pieces with combinations from 100-100-100 mm up to 315-315-315 mm, including asymmetric variants (for example 160-250-160 mm or 125-200-125 mm), where the main inlet and outlets have different diameters according to the required capacity of each branch. This also makes it possible to supply two smaller tents with different air requirements from one powerful fan.
Flexible air ducts are then connected to the duct Y-piece - aluflex, sonoflex or combiflex - or a phonic trap sound attenuator if you also need to address the acoustics of the ventilation system. The sheet metal design keeps its shape and does not twist like flexible ducting, which makes firm ceiling or wall mounting easier.
