Vitalink - Dosing Chart
How should you dose VitaLink fertilisers? Here is a proven method!
- The dosage depends on the fertiliser product line you have chosen according to the growing method and substrate.
- Dose VitaLink fertilisers according to the table, taking into account the developmental stage the plant is in. The values stated in millilitres are intended to be mixed into 1 litre of water.
- The manufacturer’s tables are divided into 12 weeks of the growing cycle, of which 4 weeks are taken up by the vegetative phase, or growth phase, and a further 8 weeks are reserved for the flower and fruit formation phase.
- For greater clarity and more efficient use of fertilisers, the individual weeks are also described. Especially during the growth phase, we distinguish transplanting or planting, subsequent rooting, intensive growth and an extended growth phase, during which the plant reaches its maximum height. In the flowering phase, the 7th week of flowering in particular differs significantly, when it is sufficient to use a single product with the apt name FINALE. This applies to all growing methods and media.
- Do not forget that in the last week of the growing cycle it is important to carry out the so-called flushing. In this phase, do not add any of the standard fertilisers to the water. This will achieve exceptionally healthy fruits with excellent flavour, as no residues of salts or other undesirable substances will remain in the crop.
- VitaLink also gives growers tools to protect plants from temperatures that are too high or, conversely, too low. COOL cools your plants down, while HEAT warms them up. We will no longer state the dosage of these products in the schedule below, as the dose remains the same throughout the entire growing cycle (0.4 ml).
- If you use a hydroponic system or coconut substrate for growing plants, the VitaLink brand allows you to choose nutrition specially adapted to whether your source water is so-called hard (HW = hard water) or soft (SW = soft water). The dosage of these products, marked HW and SW, is the same in both cases.
- Are you growing plants indoors in a grow tent? Then the graph of temperature and humidity below will also be helpful!
- Dosing fertiliser according to the table and the manufacturer’s instructions minimises the risk of over-fertilisation. Nevertheless, we recommend continuously checking how the plants are doing during the growing cycle, as each of them has its own individual needs.
- Our TIP: For better watering and improved nutrient management, it is worth using filters and reverse osmosis units Growmax.
When to add and when to reduce?
- You can reduce the intensity of fertilisation for a while if you notice typical symptoms associated with an excess of nutrients. These are most often indicated by yellowing leaves, spots on their edges, or a white surface on the substrate.
- If you notice that the plant, on the contrary, has a lack of nutrients, it is advisable to start fertilising a little more. If the plant is growing unnaturally slowly and its leaves are smaller than is usual for the given species, it is probably undernourished. In such a case, you can try increasing the intensity of fertilisation and observe whether this has a positive effect on the plant and it begins to thrive better.
