Calcium and magnesium for soft water and coco

Enough calcium and magnesium is essential for fast-growing plants - it helps prevent deficiencies of secondary nutrients, supports growth and fruiting, and prevents blossom end rot and leaf tip burn in demanding crops such as tomatoes or lettuce. Terra Aquatica Calcium Magnesium supplies concentrated calcium and magnesium in a highly available, pure and soluble form that does not clog drippers, and is compatible with most feeding regimes. It also helps balance calcium binding when growing in coco with organic nutrition or when breaking up compressed coco bricks.

When and how much to dose

For most uses, including organic and demanding crops, dose 1.5 ml per litre of water. With reverse osmosis, add 2 ml per litre before the nutrient solution. In coco, ready-made soilless mixes or when breaking up compressed coco, use 1 to 1.5 ml per litre, soak the medium and then add the same ratio to the feed for the first two weeks.

When to leave out CalMag

Warning: do not use Calcium Magnesium with Terra Aquatica recipes for soft water, with concentrates for coco or with one-part hybrids - these already contain enough calcium, even for reverse osmosis. Likewise, Terra Aquatica coco substrates are pre-rinsed and stabilised, so you can grow straight from the bag. You will mainly appreciate CalMag with nutrition from other brands; overall nutrient uptake is then supported by the universal bio-stimulant Fulvic.

Yes, if you feed with nutrition that does not contain enough calcium and magnesium. Add 2 ml per litre to osmosis water before the fertiliser. However, leave it out with Terra Aquatica recipes for soft water.
