Secret Jardin carbon filters from the DF16 range clean the air extracted from the grow tent of unwanted odours. The CTC80 activated carbon captures odour molecules before they leave the room, so nobody has to know about your grow room. The range is designed for Secret Jardin D16 Extractor fans and installs quickly, without the need for air ducting.
How to choose a filter
The deciding factor is the airflow the filter needs to handle. This is determined by the tent volume and the fan output - the filter must handle the same amount of air as the fan, otherwise efficiency and extraction drop. The second parameter is the quality and amount of activated carbon: the CTC80 value shows how many odours the carbon can bind, and the longer the carbon bed, the longer the filter lasts.

How strong a Secret Jardin filter do I need?
The filter airflow should match the fan output and tent volume. As a guide, choose a filter with the same or slightly higher airflow than the fan - the filter creates resistance to the air, and one that is too weak would choke the extraction.
Do I need air ducting for the DF16 filter?
No. The DF16 range fits directly onto the D16 Extractor fan, so installation is quick and without ducting.
How long does a carbon filter last?
The service life of activated carbon depends on use, humidity and odour load. Efficiency gradually decreases - when the filter starts letting odour through, it is time to replace it.
