Root Pouch BLACK

Root Pouch BLACK is a fabric pot for growers who want a healthier root system than in a classic plastic bucket. The material is made from a blend of recycled PET bottles and natural fibres, so it is more environmentally friendly while still being strong enough to keep its shape even when fully watered.

The main advantage of the fabric design is air-pruning of roots. As soon as a root tip reaches the breathable wall, it dries out in the air and the plant sends out new side roots instead. The result is a denser, finer root ball that absorbs water and nutrients more effectively, unlike plastic containers where roots often circle the wall and the plant stagnates.

The BLACK range differs from other Root Pouch variants only in colour; functionally, it is the same material as the other ranges. Available sizes range from 3.8 litres for seedlings and smaller herbs up to 30 litres for mature plants in the later growth stage. Smaller sizes are suitable for transplanting cuttings and young plants, while larger ones serve as the final container for the entire growing cycle.

Thanks to the breathability of the material, the substrate in Root Pouch dries out faster, which reduces the risk of overwatering and root rot, but also means watering a little more often than with plastic.
