How do I choose the right filter size?
Start with the extract capacity. The optimal filter airflow should match the performance of your fan and the tent volume - in the table above you will find the optimal and maximum value in m3/h for each model, as well as the corresponding flange diameter.
What is the pre-filter for, and can it be washed?
The pre-filter captures dust and coarse dirt and thus protects the carbon layer. It is washable, so you can wash it repeatedly and use it for multiple growing cycles.
Do I need to combine the filter with a fan?
Yes. The filter does not move air by itself - it is connected to an extract fan, which pulls air through it from the tent. That is why it is important to match the filter capacity with the fan performance.
