The Milwaukee MC122 PRO pH controller lets you automatically measure and adjust pH levels.

Detailed information

Product detailed description

The MC122 PRO controller automatically monitors pH and switches a controlled socket into which pumps or CO2 dosing devices can be connected. Simply set the pH parameters and the Milwaukee pH controller takes care of the rest. The Milwaukee PRO pH controller is used in large nutrient solution tanks or for aquariums.

Advantages of the Milwaukee MC122 PRO pH:

- accuracy up to ± 0.2 pH using two-point manual calibration
- provides a control range of 5.5 to 9.5 pH with alarms that activate when the measured values are higher or lower than the set value
- supplied with a complete mounting kit including probe holder

Features:
- fast, easy-to-read current results with a large LC digital display
- accurate to ± 0.2 pH (0.0 pH to 14.0 pH) with user-adjustable high/low set values
- simple two-point calibration to increase accuracy using manual trimmers for easy adjustment
- gel-filled laboratory pH electrode for minimal maintenance and high performance
- 2 m probe cables for greater flexibility during testing
- 12 V DC power supply

pH metres usually start to malfunction due to probe issues. The two parts of a pH probe that most often cause problems are the glass sensing bulb and the reference junction. The glass bulb loses sensitivity during use until it eventually fails. This applies to all pH probes.

Reference junction - a small opening that allows the metre to compare the sample with reference values. The reading is generated based on the electrical difference between the sample and the reference. If the junction becomes clogged, the pH probe will no longer work.

You can extend the life of your pH electrode in the following ways:

Storage:
- the pH probe must be kept hydrated! Long storage in dry conditions will damage the probe's sensitivity
- leaving the probe dry can also cause the reference junction to clog
- both of these problems can be solved by storing it in pH probe storage solution or pH calibration buffers
- do not store in tap water or distilled water. This will damage the probe's sensitivity

The best way to store the probe is to fill the protective cap with storage solution or calibration buffer and tighten the cap to prevent leakage. It is also recommended to store the electrode in a vertical position to further reduce the potential for leakage.

Cleaning:
- residues from the nutrient solution can affect the probe's sensitivity and clog the reference junction
- this is especially true if the sample contains a lot of organic material
- we recommend regularly soaking the electrode in cleaning solution

Calibration:
- pH sensor probes become less sensitive over time, so make sure you calibrate regularly to keep your PRO pH controller accurate
- also calibrate after cleaning or long-term storage
