Product detailed description

A beneficial fungus for protecting plants against moulds in the form of a wettable powder. Its main active ingredient is the microscopic fungal organism (Oomyceta) Pythium oligandrum. The product does not attack the plants themselves, only the mould on them.

Due to its biological mode of action, plants cannot be overdosed with the product, so you do not need to worry if you use a larger amount than recommended.

Details:
Pythium oligandrum attacks phytopathogenic fungi by direct mycoparasitism. Using enzyme production, it breaks down their bodies (mycelia) and some reproductive organs (sclerotia). Pythium oligandrum therefore has an easier position to penetrate phytopathogenic fungi with its filaments, from which it obtains nutrients and uses them for its own nutrition. This process continues until it completely drains and destroys the phytopathogenic fungus. In addition to this preventive effect, in symbiosis with the root system of treated plants it produces the low-molecular protein oligandrin, which is also characterised by systemic and translaminar properties. This natural substance induces the plant’s natural protection (resistance) against foliar fungal diseases. This resistance is manifested both actively - by limiting the germination of pathogen spores and suppressing the growth of its mycelium, and passively by thickening the cell walls of the treated plant.

Application methods for Polyversum Biogarden:

Watering:
Watering with a 0.05% suspension of the product. This means 1 g of powder (about a teaspoon) per 2 litres of water. Apply approximately 5 ml of suspension per seedling. There is no danger if the dose is exceeded. The aim is primarily the initial support of young plants’ growth and their protection against soil mycopathogens, induced resistance against potato blight.

Spraying:
Spray with a 0.05% suspension, prepared in the same way as for watering. However, it is recommended to strain the suspension repeatedly through a filter (an older clean stocking will do) to prevent possible clogging of the sprayer nozzles.

Soaking seedlings/plant roots:
Soak the root ball of seedlings in the prepared 0.05% suspension just before planting (alternatively, the trays with seedlings can be drenched with the suspension).

Seed treatment:
5 grams is enough for 1 kg of seed. It is sufficient to mix the seed with the product. It is intended against damping-off in seedlings.
