Hose Clamps

Hose clamps keep your ventilation system together where a leak would mean air loss and noise. They tighten a flexible hose to a flange, fan or filter and are compatible with aluflex, combiflex and sonoflex hoses. Choose the size exactly for the diameter of your ducting.

A hose clamp is a small item on which the tightness of the entire ventilation system depends. It joins the end of a flexible hose to the neck of a fan, carbon filter or flange so firmly that air does not escape sideways and the system draws exactly where it should. Without it, even a powerful fan loses efficiency and makes unnecessary noise.

How to choose the right hose clamp

Only one number matters - the diameter of the ducting. Always choose the clamp according to the outer size of the hose you are tightening:

  • Smaller sizes (110 to 135 mm) - for hoses with a diameter of around 100 to 125 mm, typical for small tents.
  • Medium sizes (165 to 215 mm) - for the most common ducting of 150 to 200 mm.
  • Larger sizes (300 to 330 mm) - for heavy-duty ducting around 300 mm in large grow rooms.

Most of our clamps are made of galvanised, or stainless galvanised, steel, so they withstand moisture and time. For connecting round METU-type ducting, the Pro METU quick-release clamp is suitable, which you tighten with a single screw. A different group consists of plastic cable ties - these bundle cables and wires and resist oils and chemicals.

Frequently asked questions about hose clamps

How do I know the correct clamp size?

Measure the outer diameter of the flexible hose and choose a clamp whose range covers this size. A clamp marked, for example, 300-330 mm fits ducting whose circumference falls within that range.

Are the clamps compatible with all types of flexible hoses?

Yes, standard metal clamps are designed for aluflex, combiflex and sonoflex. They differ only in size according to the hose diameter.

What is the difference between a metal clamp and a quick-release clamp?

A metal hose clamp is tightened with a screwdriver around the entire circumference, while the Pro METU quick-release clamp is secured with a single screw and installation is therefore faster - it is especially suitable where you disconnect ducting often.

Can plastic cable ties be used on air ducting?

Plastic ties are intended for bundling cables and wires, not for tightly securing an air hose - use a metal clamp or clamp on ducting.
