Lowering pH with citric acid is the most natural way to reduce the pH of a solution and preserve the organic properties of fertilisers. When using nitric acid, which is commonly used to lower pH, Bio fertilisers become mineralised, thereby losing the advantage you want to achieve by using Bio fertilisers.
