CarboAir Carbon Filters

Odour is the most common reason growing gives itself away. CarboAir carbon odour filters from Global Air Supplies capture volatile substances before they leave the extract ducting, and keep the air clean in and around the tent.

CarboAir carbon filters from the British company Global Air Supplies are among the best odour filtration solutions for grow rooms. They capture volatile organic compounds (VOC), which carry odour, without unnecessarily restricting airflow. They connect to an extract fan and clean the air before it leaves the tent or room.

How to choose the right filter

The key is to match the filter to the fan. The filter should handle the same or slightly higher airflow than your fan delivers - otherwise it will restrict it and filtration will not be perfect. The second parameter is the flange diameter, which must fit the ducting (most commonly 100, 125, 150, 160, 200, 250 or 315 mm). The third criterion is the thickness of the carbon bed: the longer the air stays in contact with the carbon, the higher the odour concentration the filter can handle.

Range Airflow and bed For whom
CarboAir 50600 to 3850 m3/h, compact and lightweightHome tents and smaller grow rooms
CarboAir PRO 601350 to 4250 m3/h, 60mm bedHigher odour concentration, longer contact
CarboAir 1003800 to 6900 m3/hLarge grow rooms with extreme odour

For a standard home tent, CarboAir 50 is more than enough - it is compact, lightweight and easy to hang. If you are dealing with stronger odour or want a reserve, choose the CarboAir PRO 60 range with a thicker carbon bed, which removes higher VOC concentrations thanks to longer air contact with the carbon. For large professional grow rooms with extreme load, there is the strongest CarboAir 100 range.

You can find CarboAir among other brands in the category of carbon odour filters, where you can also compare alternatives such as Prima Klima or Can-Filters.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know what size filter I need?

Start with the output of the extract fan in m3/h and choose a filter with the same or slightly higher airflow. At the same time, the flange diameter must fit your ducting.

How long does a carbon filter last?

The lifespan of activated carbon depends on the load and humidity. High humidity saturates the carbon faster, so the filter is always placed after the fan in the dry part of the extract and not directly in the stream of humid air.

What is the difference between CarboAir 50 and PRO 60?

The PRO 60 range has a thicker, 60mm carbon bed. Air stays in contact with the carbon for longer, so the filter can handle higher odour concentrations than the thinner 50 range.
