Product detailed description

Ideal start for seedlings and cuttings

CANNA Start is a balanced one-component fertiliser, developed precisely for the needs of young seedlings and rooted cuttings. It provides them with all the essential nutrients in the optimal ratio so they can develop into a strong and healthy plant.

CANNA Start is a fertiliser (not a root stimulator) and forms a perfect combination with the root stimulator Canna Rhizotonic. Together they offer a complete growing programme from the start through to harvest.

Why Canna Start

  • Reduces the risk of overfeeding: cuttings and seedlings have different needs than mature plants; a standard growth fertiliser could overfeed them.
  • Reduces the risk of leaf yellowing: simply diluting a growth fertiliser to a lower concentration does not contain enough trace elements, which causes deficiencies. CANNA Start has the exact ratio of all nutritional elements for cuttings and seedlings.
  • For different growing media: suitable for rockwool cubes, coco pellets, jiffy pellets, seed-starting substrates and most other propagation media (except recirculating and aeroponic cutting trays).

Who Canna Start is ideal for

It is suitable for growers who grow from seed, root their own cuttings, or first raise seedlings or cuttings in small pots. It is a complete one-component feed, containing all the necessary elements in one bottle (there is no need for an A and B version).

Dosage and transition to another fertiliser

Shake the bottle before use. Dose at a ratio of 1:250 (4 ml per 1 l of water). The EC of the solution (including the EC of the water) ranges between 0.7-1.3 mS/cm, recommended pH is 5.2-6.2.

Once the cuttings have been transplanted into the final medium, switch from Canna Start to the Vega fertiliser suitable for the medium you are growing in: Canna Terra Vega (soil), Canna Coco A+B (coco), Canna Hydro Vega A+B (run-to-waste) or Canna Aqua Vega A+B (recirculating hydroponics).

Storage, safety and further information

Store in a closed container in the dark and protect from frost. Keep out of reach of children. The bottle is made of polyethylene (contains no PVC or cadmium) and is recyclable. If the solution comes into contact with skin or eyes, rinse with water. Overfeeding has a negative effect on the growing medium and plant health.

Frequently asked questions

When should I switch from Canna Start to another fertiliser?

As soon as you transplant the cuttings or seedlings into the final growing medium, switch to the Vega fertiliser of the given range - for example Canna Terra Vega for soil or Canna Coco A+B for coco.

Can Canna Start be combined with Rhizotonic?

Yes, it is a recommended combination - CANNA Start is a fertiliser, while Canna Rhizotonic is a root stimulator; together they form a complete programme from rooting onwards.

For which growing media is Canna Start suitable?

For rockwool cubes, coco pellets, jiffy pellets, seed-starting substrates and most propagation media - it is not intended for recirculating and aeroponic cutting trays.

You can find the exact dosage for individual ranges in the Canna dosage table.
