Bluelab Combo Metre is a portable combined metre that measures the three most important parameters of a nutrient solution with one device - pH, conductivity (EC) and temperature. It has two probes: one measures pH, the other conductivity and temperature. Simply place them in the solution and the values will appear on the large backlit display.

Calibration and probe care

Calibrate the pH probe in two points with one button using pH 4.0 and pH 7.0 solutions; after 30 days the device will remind you to recalibrate. The conductivity probe does not require calibration - it is factory-set, and you can verify the accuracy against the EC 2.77 standard. Store the glass pH probe in KCl storage solution and do not let it dry out. You can buy a replacement Bluelab pH probe (BNC) separately, and the care kit for pH/EC metres is suitable for maintenance.

Do I need to calibrate both probes?

No. The conductivity and temperature probe is factory-calibrated and ready for immediate measuring. You calibrate only the pH probe, in two points with pH 4.0 and pH 7.0 solutions. The device has a 30-day reminder for when it is advisable to recalibrate the pH probe.

Can a worn pH probe be replaced?

Yes, the pH probe connects via a standard BNC connector and is fully replaceable. When it wears out, you fit a new Bluelab pH probe and do not need to buy the whole metre. The pH probe comes with a six-month warranty, and the device itself with a five-year warranty.

In which units does it measure conductivity?

Bluelab Combo Metre measures conductivity in EC, CF, PPM 500 (TDS) and PPM 700. For PPM values, always check which scale (500 or 700) you are reading - the same EC gives different PPM on each scale. It displays temperature in degrees Celsius and Fahrenheit.
