Activated carbon is a highly porous carbon with an extremely large surface area.

Detailed information

Product detailed description

Activated carbon is a carbon with a porous structure and a large internal surface area (1050m2/g). It can adsorb a wide range of substances including odours. It can therefore be used as a replacement cartridge for odour filters. Its shape is in the form of cylinders with a diameter of about 4mm. The lifetime of activated carbon is approximately 18-24 months.

It is suitable, for example, for the refurbishment of carbon filters.

Activated carbon can be used for a wide range of activities. In industry
, activated carbon is widely used in the production of drinking water, the capture of volatile substances in paint shops, the decolourisation of liquids, the production of water for the food industry, the production of non-alcoholic beer, in the military, in the production of protective equipment, in the purification of biogas, landfill gas, but also natural gas, for the capture ofdioxinsactivated carbon is "injected" together with other pH-adjusting substances into flue gases in waste incinerators.

In the home, use is common infume hoodsand in the filtersof deep-fat fryers.

Calculation to select a suitable filter
Calculate the volume of air in a room by multiplying the length of the room (m) by the width of the room (m) and the height of the ceiling (m).
E.g.: A room 4 m long, 3 m wide and 2 m high => 4 x 3 x 2 = 24 m3
Multiply the resulting volume of air by 60 (i.e. the number of minutes per hour) to find the amount of air that needs to be purified in 1 hour.
Compare the result with the maximum performance of the selected filter. If its max. performance is higher than our result, the filter is sufficient for the space.
